Fact fluency is child’s play with Happy Numbers

As we journey alongside our students, we're continually growing and evolving here at Happy Numbers. Our commitment to providing an ever-improving online math teaching platform takes root in the valuable feedback and reviews we receive from our users. With this input, we've been able to make our platform not only more engaging for students but also more intuitive for teachers. Today, we are thrilled to share the exciting new features set to roll out in 2023-2024.

Games

As believers in the power of engagement in learning, we understand the importance of enjoyment in the educational process. It's why we continually develop new math and logic games that hit that sweet spot where fun and learning overlap. Among our upcoming features are three games that promise a thrilling learning experience for our young mathematicians.

Buildoraptor is a logic puzzle that helps students to strengthen logical, spatial, and critical thinking. Students help Buildoraptor construct a building by rotating and dragging different shapes to fill in a designated area. It has two levels of difficulty.

Next, we have Dinosaurio, an educational math challenge that helps students practice their fact proficiency. The objective is to navigate Dinosaurio through levels filled with obstacles and enemies by selecting the correct math facts. The level of difficulty depends on each student’s Placement Test results.

Lastly, there’s Momo, a strategic math adventure that challenges players to make calculated decisions to reach their goal. In each level, players analyze the potential outcomes of different math operations and strategically choose the operation that will bring them closer to their objective. This gameplay promotes critical thinking, logical reasoning, and strategic decision-making skills while reinforcing math problem solving.

Assignments

We've always had a vast range of engaging math games that help students in grades 2-5 practice fact fluency. The exciting news is that, with our new update, teachers can now assign these games as tasks for students to practice at home. This allows for an effective blend of study and play.

In the new version of the assignment feature, teachers will have the ability to choose any specific topic in which a student is struggling and assign them Happy Games to practice and enhance their skills in a gamified format. This personalized approach to learning will help students improve their fact fluency in an engaging and enjoyable way.

Content

As we dive into the new features related to content, it's important to note that our goal remains steadfast: we strive to achieve full Pre-K 5 curriculum coverage by introducing more tasks that guarantee students’ comprehensive skill development.

One fundamental skill in the Pre-Kindergarten curriculum is recognizing and tracing numbers. Understanding the importance of this skill, we’ve incorporated new number tracing lessons. By introducing these lessons, we aim to support children in their early numerical literacy and prepare them for future math learning.

The Happy Numbers team is also pleased to announce that we have achieved full curriculum coverage for Grades 2-3, including topics such as Geometry, Time, and Money.

However, our team continues to work diligently, and in the 2023-2024 school year, we plan to complete all the topics for grades 4 and 5, including Geometry. Our goal is to provide comprehensive and thorough learning experiences for students, ensuring they have a solid foundation in mathematical concepts and skills.

Lastly, we are introducing a new library of printable materials, available in both English and Spanish. Catering to different learning needs and levels, these materials come in up to three levels of difficulty. This fresh addition to our resources will provide another helpful tool for learners and teachers alike, further supporting our community on their educational journey.

Thank you for joining us on this exciting path of growth and continuous improvement. Stay tuned for these new features coming very soon!
