Math Challenge: A Resource Collection for Teachers

A school-wide competition that turns weekly math practice into a friendly contest between classes. These five guides cover launching it, how points and the leaderboard work, and the certificates at the end.

How to launch it: the admin picks the start week and grade levels, then clicks Launch; several challenges can run at once, and teachers get confirmations plus reminders at the start, midpoint, and end. Available with School and District licenses.

The scoring behind it: points come from the number of active students multiplied by the time spent on Happy Numbers weekly; teachers can double their class’s points by signing in, and a live leaderboard ranks classes with Olympic-style designations.

What each side sees: teachers get a Math Challenge section, a leaderboard with a Present button for the board, and certificates at the end, while students keep their usual tasks and receive extra motivation.

The awards: once a challenge is marked Completed, teachers download a PDF with all participants’ names, in class and individual versions, and admins can recognize teachers too.

Where points come from: the ratio of attending to rostered students multiplied by the time spent on Happy Numbers weekly, plus a teacher sign-in bonus that doubles the class’s points once a week.
