Stuck Students Feature: Identifying and Supporting Struggling Learners

We’ve added a new feature designed to help you quickly identify students who are currently struggling with their tasks in real-time. The "Stuck Students" block on your Weekly Dashboard highlights those who’ve spent significantly more time than expected on a current task without completing it, allowing you to intervene early and provide support.

What is the Stuck Students Feature?

The "Stuck Students" block provides real-time insights into students who may need extra support. If a student takes longer than expected on a current task, they will appear in this section, allowing you to quickly identify those struggling.

1. Compare the time spent: hover over a student's time to see how long it typically takes others to complete the same task.

2. Access task details: click on the task name to view exactly what the student is working on and where they are struggling.

3. Take action quickly: use these insights to decide whether the student needs a brief explanation or extra practice.

How the System Determines a Stuck Student

The Stuck Students feature uses an algorithm to calculate the maximum expected time for each task based on statistical data and our methodologists' estimates. If a student takes longer than this time, they are marked as "stuck”.

This feature works closely with the Intervention Alert, which tells you when a student has had accuracy problems on certain tasks. These tools help you step in quickly and give your students the help they need to stay focused and do better.
